Program Description:
Lansing Residential Center (LRC) is a juvenile detention facility for women ages 13-17. Lansing tutors arrive at the residential center during the girls’ free time. They work only with girls who have requested to be tutored. After pairing up with the girls, usually one-on-one, tutors help students with school assignments, including basic math, science, social studies, reading, and writing. The tutoring is held in the communal areas of the residence center.
